Rural Roots, Boundless Potential

Building Trust through Partnership

Rural Promise USA is made up of people in and from rural areas coming together to build a platform of advocacy for rural communities across the country. We feel for too long the dominant discourse in this country has neglected these communities and believe the more empowered and prosperous rural and small-town America becomes, the more our national divides will narrow and our nation as a whole will be strengthened. Let’s all work towards building our communities with each other, not against one another.

Attaining Equity through Shared Prosperity

As seen from mounting examples, divisions in this country falling largely along urban and rural boundaries are becoming a serious threat to the continued survival of our republic. Rural Promise USA is a nonprofit and nonpartisan organization created to address this by engaging with rural areas in working to fulfill their inherent promise through education on policies, resources, and priorities that increase opportunity and prosperity for the people in these communities.

Sustaining Unity through Perseverance

Rural Promise USA’s logo is an olive branch. Long used as a symbol for peace and goodwill, it was chosen as it is representative of persistence as well. Olive trees can thrive for hundreds of years and are so resilient that even if the above-ground structure is destroyed their root system can regenerate a tree that will again bear fruit. Also incorporated into the logo are the colors of our nation’s flag to reflect the ideals this country was founded upon and this organization’s ongoing commitment to realizing them.

Making Progress through Inclusion

Our first step: listening to you! Are you part of a rural community? What do you feel is holding your community back from fulfilling its promise? What has already helped bring it prosperity, or what do you feel is ready to if given the proper opportunity? Your voice matters and we want to hear from you. Send us what’s on your mind.

Party Chicken Breasts Recipe

It can be rooted in a particular area or culture, but food shares its delights widely, unconcerned with boundaries or divisions. All of us have favorite dishes and many of us have recipes that are personally significant to us.

As we begin building this organization into what we hope it will one day become, we want to offer you something that is meaningful to us from the outset. So here is a recipe we feel represents some of the good food from our neck of the woods.

We’d like to feature a recipe from your own kitchen as well. A regional specialty, a traditional family recipe, or something you just managed to put together from your garden, please tell us why it is meaningful to you and share it with us via our contact form. We will feature as many of your submissions as we can.
